YOUR WORK DAY

07:00 a.m.

My working day starts with a meeting with the journeyman, who tells me what tasks I have to do for the day.

07:15 a.m.

Then I take the tool trolley to the machine and can start with the maintenance. First I check that all the cables are securely connected, then I clean the control cabinets and check that the circuit diagrams are clean and tidy.

I dismantle the sheet metal covers on the system to check the components underneath for dirt and wear. I replace any defective parts. When everything is in order again, the covers are refitted.

09:00 a.m.

Now it's break time. I can have a tasty breakfast in our canteen.

09:15 a.m.

Freshly fortified, we continue. The machines have many switches and buttons that may have come loose. I check these, reattach them or replace them. Defective bulbs are replaced at the same time.

11:00 a.m.

There are many electronic components in the switch cabinet that are cooled by small fans. I have to check these and replace them if necessary. Together with my skilled worker, I measure whether the relays and contactors are switching correctly. I replace some that switch frequently or are defective directly.

12:00 p.m.

Time for the lunch break.

12:30 p.m.

The machine is put back into operation. All functions are checked and tested. If a fault occurs, I try to rectify it together with my skilled worker. Finally, there is the safety check. The emergency stop must always work!

03:50 p.m.

Now I'm off work. Tomorrow it's the next machine's turn (processing cell).
